Dr. Chinenye Iwuji is a Consultant Medical Oncologist, who worked at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust until her move to Lakeshore Cancer Centre. She qualified from Southampton Medical School and holds a degree in Physiology from University of Dundee. Her post-graduate qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Oncology (University of Nottingham) and a PhD (University of Leicester), following her research investigating the use of curcumin in the treatment of colorectal cancer.
She treats all solid tumours and has a specialist interest in palliative care. She is an honorary senior lecturer for the University of Leicester Medical School and was the Cancer Care Block Lead. Her global health interest lies particularly in developing oncology services in Nigeria.
She works with Africa Partners Medical and Jos Hospital, Nigeria University Teaching Hospital to teach oncology and communication skills in their continuing medical education (CME) programme.
She is a member of the steering committee for the Royal Society of Medicine’s Global Cancer Care Programme.
She is also the President the British Nigerian Oncology Group.
